Client Area Designer For WHMCSHSO Cloud (HSOCloud.com LLC) 5 years agoThe Client Area Designer is the best module on the market for modifying and redesigning menus and widgets in the WHMCS client area. The only other option that is better would be to hire a WHMCS developer/designer and have them customize what this module does already.
Sure, you can buy a cheap one-time payment menu modification script with very little functionality. Yes, it will offer lifetime updates with a limited window for support. On average, the reality behind "lifetime" only lasts about 1-2 years before the on-time simple module becomes unsupported. All it takes is for WHMCS to go from vX.XX to vX.XX. In the end, you are almost better off learning what that one-time payment script does and customizing your WHMCS installation yourself.
Luckily, the Client Area Designer module for WHMCS goes much further than a one-time simple WHMCS menu manager module script. It has a great smooth feel to it (not clunky), its development is for the long haul and very well supported, and it does not require modifying templates. Install it like any other WHMCS module, and it works.
Side Note: I purchased this module over a year ago and never had to create a support ticket for anything. It dropped right in and worked right away. I have had to work with Module Garden's support with other modules, and their support team is fantastic. They get back to you in less than 24 hours, and even though I knew I had everything perfect, they would politely show me what I did wrong.
I discontinued my subscription for the Client Area Designer module about a month back. I had envisionments of going another direction and customizing my solution. I was able to do this but at a sacrifice of some automation and a few aspects of functionality.
About a week ago, Module Garden's team member Joanna Byjoś reached out to me. That's all it took. I threw in the towel and made life much more straightforward. I know I would have developed a way to get back to 100%. I may have even designed/found something better, but that's 3, 6, eight months down the road, not to mention the million other higher priority things I could be doing.
The main reason I use the Client Area Designer module is for the "Define Visibility For" and "Define Display Rules" features. This allows my clients a unique menu tab in their client area after they purchased a product or service, granting them privileges to a restricted area. Absolutely no manual configuration when product/service is purchased and no menu tabs leading clients to a restricted area.
Other noteworthy aspects of this module:
- It scans for custom menus and widgets setup before the installation and imports them in.
- It's not a bad price for the functionality it delivers.
- Easy homepage widget customization.
Those who are looking to purchase this module with thoughts of "redesigning" your entire WHMCS client area, I highly recommend taking advantage of the 7-day free trial to make sure it is what you want. With the name of "Client Area Designer," a potential buyer may think this module is capable of more than it is. It does not rebrand or retheme/skin other areas or aspects of the WHMCS client area.
That said, this module is excellent the way it is. I don't believe Module Gardens has plans to turn this module into anything more than it currently is, but it certainly has the potential for growth. I could certainly see it becoming the "Uber Menus" of Wordpress but for WHMCS one day.
I give Module Garden's Client Area Designer 5 out of 5 stars. Well worth the purchase.
